Milestones in Kemp Concrete Group:

1973

The company's founder returned home from the service and began working in the Fargo area as a concrete worker. One of the first jobs was laying the foundation for the local Hornbacher's Grocery store on 13th Ave.

1976 

Having completed hundreds of concrete jobs around the Fargo-Moorhead area, the founder decided it was time to start a new concrete company. Having a desire to build something with family, the founder reached out to two brothers. And soon after, a new concrete and construction company was created.

2000 

Having a reputation of doing things the right way, the company became a household name. Strata Corp made an offer they could not refuse, and Strata purchased the company.

2005 

The founder decided to leave the corporate lifestyle and thus left Strata. Soon after, a new concrete and construction company was established.

2019

After placing concrete in thousands of establishments across the Fargo Moorhead area, the founder began to search for the right situation to personally slow down, while ensuring the business would continue.

2020

Hitting all the checkmarks that is 1) being a veteran, 2) having a connection to the F-M community, and 3) having the ability for the business to remain family-oriented, the company began its transition to new leadership under Michael.

2020 March

Excited to take the company into the next 50 years, Michael began the process of blending the traditional with the contemporary. Understanding both the importance of maintaining high standards and the challenges of operating a business in the 21st century, Michael began the process of modernizing. The company updated its logo, infusing various elements of the original logo (the "Gold Star" and the "Veteran Owned" acknowledgement). Understanding the necessity of digital marketing, the company also reworked its business name to include the "DoingItRight" moniker being a nod to the company's reputation and a promise to future clients.

2021

The company expanded its services to include concrete repair, epoxy flooring, industrial coatings, landscaping, and yard services, offering a wider range of options to customers.

2022

Michael took over running the administrative and sales part of the business. Cody was promoted to oversee daily operations, and Tanner was tasked with ensuring quality control.

2023

As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2023, we find ourselves at an important juncture in our company's evolution. While we're incredibly proud of the quality concrete, landscaping and snow removal services we've provided the Fargo-Moorhead community over the decades, we recognize the need to continually improve by renewing our commitments to integrity, transparency and shared success.

To achieve this vision, Michael decided the time is right to transition into an employee-owned company - one focused on collaboration and investing in the team that has been so vital to the expertise and passion at our foundation. This transition underscores our belief in the power of collective ownership and mutually shared rewards.

As part of this next chapter, we'll be unveiling a new company name that aligns with these refreshed values while continuing to build on our legacy and trusted reputation in the community. What won't change is our exceptional team and their dedication to expert, reliable service.

New Identity and Legacy Continuation

With great excitement, we unveil our new identity: Kemp Concrete Group. This new name and organizational change represents a significant evolution for our company. Under the banner of Kemp Concrete Group, we proudly carry forward our legacy of "Doing It Right".
